Also known as the London Mosque, it was the first ever purpose built mosque. The foundation stone was laid by Hadhrat Mirza Bashiruddin Mahmud Ahmad (ra) in 1924.. The mosque was officially inaugurated on the 26th of October 1926. Most of the money to build the Mosque was contributed by Ahmadi women in India, who gave their jewellery & belongings.
